Press Release
October 15th, 2010

New York, NY – As the economy continues to show positive movement toward a strong recovery, designers seek new & innovative resources to offer their clients.  A group of Metro NYC interior designers is working to bring together industry leaders, artisans, and furniture showrooms to share best practices, resources and to offer educational opportunities aimed at helping move the industry forward and maximize consumer spending.

The Interior Design Society (IDS), the largest design organization exclusively dedicated to serving the residential interior design industry, is forming a chapter in the Metro NYC area. IDS is a nationally recognized interior design association founded in 1973 to meet the needs of residential interior designers and design-oriented retail stores. With thirty members of the national organization currently active in the Metro NYC area, the group hopes to expand its reach among designers, design students and other professionals serving the local interior design and home improvement markets.

The first meeting of the new IDS chapter will be held on Tuesday, November 30th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Architects and Designers Building at the GE Monogram Showroom, 10th Floor 150 E 58th St, New York,  NY 10155.
